Somerville Mentorship Project

If you are curious about the program, here is what the experience actually feels like.

We start with a simple conversation where we learn about your goals, interests, and what kind of support you want. Together we decide if the program is a good fit. If it is, we match you with a mentor whose background and personality line up with what you want to work on.

Core Programming

Over the next three months, you receive thirty hours of direct support. Most pairs meet three to four times a month, in ways that work with your schedule.

Sessions focus on goal setting, accountability, life navigation, and professional growth. You will also join small group sessions like networking dinners or hands-on workshops, and you will meet people in our Community Network who can offer advice, training, and introductions that move you forward.

The program is completely free, and you receive a $500 stipend to put toward your goals once you complete your mentorship.

One-on-One Mentorship

10-15 sessions focusing on goal setting, accountability, and professional growth

Small Group Sessions

Meetings that foster peer support and leadership development

 A Community Network

A collective of adults that can support with advice, training, connections, and introductions.

Unlike other mentorship initiatives, SMP is co-created by local youth workers who have risen into leadership roles themselves. The program blends professional coaching, cultural relevance, and community connection.

Growing people, capacity, and community.
