Somerville Mentorship Project
Interested in joining the program as a Mentee?
Mentee FAQ
First we meet with you to share the basics and learn about your goals, interests, and what kind of support you want. Together we decide whether the program is the right fit.
Next we match you with a mentor whose experience, personality, and background align with what you are hoping to work on.
Across the next three months you receive about thirty hours of direct mentorship, coaching, and skill building through:
One-on-one mentorship focused on goal setting, accountability, life navigation, and professional growth.
Small group sessions that might include a relaxed networking dinner with other mentees and mentors or a hands on workshop on areas like resume writing or interviewing.
Connections with someone in our Community Network who can offer advice, training, and introductions that move you closer to your individual goals.
Most pairs meet two to four times per month. Schedules are flexible and designed around your needs and capacity.

No. The program is free for all mentees, and you receive a $500 stipend to put toward your goals on completion.
That is completely fine. Many mentees join while figuring things out. Your mentor and coach help you shape your goals over time.
It is a group of community members who offer small, low time commitment help such as answering questions, reviewing resumes, giving advice, or sharing opportunities.
We want this experience to feel good. If something is not working, we will adjust. No stress and no judgment.
Most mentees participate for 3-5 months. Extensions are possible if the relationship is working well.
You can reach the Program Director anytime through our contact page.
