The Community Projects Lab supports community members who are actively developing a community-based or entrepreneurial project that delivers clear benefits to Somerville or neighboring cities. It is designed for people ready to collaborate on implementation, funding, and delivery.

You can expect to apply to grants, launch initiatives, and get paid to do it.
Who This Is For
We prioritize applicants ages 18–28 who:
• Have an existing venture with proof of concept
• Have a project or business plan and community interest or demand
• Have strong ties to Somerville through growing up here, attending school, or long-term community involvement.
Participants work in close partnership with SMP to refine strategy, pursue funding, and deliver real outcomes.
